The 7 Days Tanzania Wildlife Safari is an expertly designed itinerary that allows you to experience the very best of northern Tanzania's world-renowned parks at exceptional value. From the ancient baobabs of Tarangire and the stark beauty of Lake Natron to the endless savannah of the Serengeti and the wildlife-rich caldera of Ngorongoro, this camping journey offers unmatched wildlife encounters.
You will be picked up at Kilimanjaro International Airport and transferred to your hotel in Moshi town. Later, you will meet your professional guide who will brief you on your upcoming wildlife adventure.
In the morning, your guide picks you up from your hotel to start your safari to Tarangire National Park. Covering about 2,600 km², the park features bush savannah, seasonal swamps, and giant baobab trees. It is one of the best places in East Africa to see large herds of elephants up close. You may also spot Masai giraffes, buffaloes, lions, leopards, baboons, and numerous bird species before heading to your campsite or lodge for the evening.
After breakfast, depart Tarangire and travel toward the multicultural village of Mto wa Mbu. Journey down the Rift Valley Escarpment on a scenic gravel road with views of Ol Doinyo Lengai, the Maasai "holy mountain." Arrive at the oasis town of Ngare Sero near Lake Natron, where thousands of flamingos breed and feed on alkaline waters. In the afternoon, enjoy a guided walk with a local Maasai guide to a nearby waterfall before returning to the campground.
Following an early start, your vehicle climbs out of the Rift Valley onto the grassy plains of the Serengeti. Known in the Maasai language as "endless plains," the grassland savannah stretches to the horizon. As one of Africa's most famous wildlife reserves, the Serengeti hosts hundreds of thousands of animals moving in search of fresh grazing grounds. Spend the night at a campground in the central or northern areas of the park.
Dedicate the entire day to game viewing within the Serengeti. Depending on seasonal movements, enjoy a full-day game drive or split excursions in the Seronera region. Look out for massive herds of wildebeests and zebras (with calves born between January and March), alongside lions, cheetahs, and secretive leopards resting in acacia trees. Spend another night at your Seronera campsite.
Enjoy a final morning game drive in the Serengeti when wildlife is most active before temperatures peak. After lunch, leave the plains behind and travel toward the highlands of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Stay at a campsite right on the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater, offering stunning views across the collapsed volcano caldera and an ideal location for a sunset sundowner.
Rise early to descend the steep slopes into the 600-meter-deep crater floor. The environment transitions rapidly from forested highlands to open savannah. The wildlife density here is extraordinary, offering solid chances to spot the Big Five—lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino, and leopard—alongside warthogs, hippos, and flamingos. Enjoy a picnic lunch by the hippo pool before driving to Mto wa Mbu for your evening stay.
After a leisurely breakfast, begin your relaxed return journey to Arusha or Moshi, arriving around lunchtime. You will be dropped off in the city center or transferred directly to the airport to conclude your safari.
